Abstract: "The Soul of The Food"  is a site the is all about soul food. It contains history about soul food, soul food recipes, and a list of soul food restaurants that one may like to visit.


History: The inspiration for "The Soul of the Food"came from the various celebrations with family members that have been had over the years. In each one of those celebrations soul food has played a significant role in the enjoyment and kinship experienced at said celebrations. Thus, creating the site was a way to pay homage to said memories, to learn, and for others to have speak about there experiences with soul food with their families.


Scope and Content: "The Soul of The Food contains content on the history of the soul food tradition, authentic recipes, as well as restaurant recommendations.  All of these concepts are represented through various mediums: a blog, video, pictures, site links, and more. All of these mediums help to give a holistic view of soul food and its significance within the world. 

The history portion of the site starts from the beginning of soul food during the slavery period and extends to the contemporary significance of soul food. 

The recipes portion delves into various recipes for traditional soul food dishes such as: fried chicken and collard greens. Moreover, each recipe has historical background that accompanies it. 

The restaurants section gives readers/viewers a place to view various restaurants that serve highly rated(4+ stars) and authentic soul food.
